Tan Dato' Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yiou

One of the entrepreneur that i admire is Tan Dato' Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yiou. He is the chairman and chief executive of Berjaya Coporation Berhad.

The reason i admire this entrepreneur is establish a large business kingdom which is a wide array of businesses includes golfing, property, resorts and gambling in a group. Berjaya group are very famous in Malaysia because when we talk about Kenny Roger or McDonald will automatically know that are belong to Berjaya group. Berjaya group has become a important part in Malaysia not only from developing economic, Berjaya group also provide a lot of job and improve the quality of living.

Vincent Tan born in Batu Pahat, Johor in 1952. Vincent Tan has worked as an insurance angent and clerk before he actually engage into business. He acquired Mcdonald franchise in Malaysia 1982 and he purchased Sports Toto. Currentlyk he owns Cardiff City football. In 2010, he has entered the Forges billionaire list with an estimated worth of US$1.3 billion. Vincent Tan success in the Malaysian business sector has been attributed in part to his close association with prominent Malay political figures. Vincent Tan successfully obtained the license for his lottery business from an non-tendered privatisation in 1985. On 23 February 2012, Vincent Tan retired from an active corporate role in Berjaya Corp, passing it to his son, Robin Tan.

In the year 1984, the company sole founder, Vincent Tan Chee Yioun acquired a significant controlling stake in the Berjaya industrial Berhad from the founders Broken HIll. In 1988, Vincent Tan has make a major restructuring, Berjaya Group Berhad became the holding company of Reka Pacific Berhad. Inter- Pacific Industrial Group Berhad wa incorporated in 1967 as a bicycle manufacturer. In 1969, the Company gained offcial listin on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
